The "18th All Japan University Kendo Open Tournament" (organized by the All Japan Student Kendo Federation, supported by the Mainichi Newspapers, and sponsored by NAX JAPAN and JP Logistics), which will be held at the Kamei Arena Sendai in Taihaku Ward, Sendai City on the 14th and 15th, is a large-scale tournament that attracts over 1,000 competitors from not only across Japan but also from overseas. As students who meet the criteria can participate even if they have not obtained a rank in kendo, many students from national and public universities that do not offer "sports recommendations" also participate. On the 5th of this month, with the tournament approaching, kendo club members at a national public university in the metropolitan area were practicing eagerly, feeling the joy of testing their skills on the national stage.
