The 18th All Japan University Kendo Open Tournament (hosted by All Japan University Kendo Federation, supported by Mainichi Newspapers, Sponsored by NAX JAPAN, and JP Logistics) held its final event on the 15th at Kamei Arena Sendai in Taihaku Ward, Sendai City, featuring the "3rd Dan and above" category. In the women's team competition, Sonoda Gakuen Women's University A (Miki Arakaki, Moe Miyamoto, and Nonoka Seike) defeated Kinki University A in the finals to win the championship.
